The Blue Mountain Eagles Auxiliary #2618 is honored to announce the creation of our very first memorial scholarship, established in loving memory of Rene Brown and Cherie Chapman.
Rene Brown and Cherie Chapman were diagnosed with ALS on the same day. Throughout an incredibly long battle, they faced each day with courage, grace, and unwavering strength while leaning on one another through every challenge. They passed away just one day apart, leaving behind a legacy of friendship, resilience, compassion, and love that inspired everyone who knew them.
This scholarship was created to ensure their legacy lives on by recognizing a student who demonstrates those same qualities. It is our hope that each recipient carries forward the example Rene and Cherie set through their kindness, perseverance, and commitment to others.
The Blue Mountain Eagles Auxiliary believe one of our greatest responsibilities is giving back to our community. Creating this scholarship was an opportunity to honor two incredible women whose courage and friendship touched so many lives. Knowing their legacy will help students for years to come makes all the work worthwhile.
The Auxiliary has already demonstrated its commitment to this scholarship by making an initial donation to the scholarship fund. We hope this is only the beginning, and that with the support of our members and the community, this scholarship will continue to grow for many years to come.
